Day 1 – Fly to New York

What Is the New York Skyline Challenge?
- A 7 hour skyline walk through New York’s most famous locations
The challenge is designed to be:

Do I Need to Be Super Fit?
No.
This is a challenging but achievable walking marathon, completed at a supported pace with guidance throughout. If you can walk for sustained periods and are willing to prepare sensibly, this challenge is absolutely within reach.
7 hour charity walk

This is not a race.
You’ll walk together at a supported pace, with breaks and guidance throughout.
The evening is free to relax, celebrate, or enjoy New York nightlife.
Day 3 – Free time & Charity Gala
- Daytime free to enjoy New York
- In the evening, attend a black-tie charity gala
- 5-hour luxury yacht dinner cruise up the River Hudson

Is the walk suitable for beginners?
Yes. The walk is designed to be accessible to people of varying fitness levels. Regular walking beforehand is recommended, but no specialist training is required.
What is the New York Charity Gala?
The charity gala is a luxury 5-hour dinner cruise on the Hudson River, sailing around Staten Island.
The evening includes:
A three-course sit-down meal
Drinks included throughout the event

Who can take part?
The challenge is open to adults aged 18 and over. You do not need to be an experienced walker or fundraiser – just motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to supporting a life-changing children’s charity.
How does the fundraising work?
Participants raise funds in advance of the event to support the charity’s work with children affected by cancer.
Fundraising can be done through JustGiving.com or GoFundMe
The charity will actively support you with:
Fresh fundraising ideas
Offline fundraising tools
Advice and encouragement throughout your journey
Once you hit your agreed fundraising target, the charity will confirm and book your event arrangements.
What costs are covered by the charity?
Once your fundraising target is achieved, the charity covers the following expenses:
Return flights to New York
3 nights’ accommodation at a Downtown New York hotel
Entry into the New York Skyline sponsored walk
Luxury charity gala dinner cruise
Three-course meal at the charity gala
Drinks during the charity gala
Live music and charity awards evening
These core elements are fully funded by the charity.
What costs are not covered?
Participants are responsible for:
Transport to and from their departure airport
ESTA application fee
Personal spending money
Meals outside of the official charity events
Travel insurance (mandatory)
Where will my flight depart from?
Your flight to New York will be booked from the closest international airport to where you live, wherever possible.
You will need to make your own way to the airport on the day of departure.
Do I need a visa to travel to the USA?
Yes. All participants must complete their own ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation) application before travel.
ESTA applications are completed online
The charity will provide guidance, but completion is your responsibility
You must ensure your passport meets US entry requirements
Where will we be staying?
Participants will stay in a Downtown New York hotel for 3 nights.

Will there be free time?
Yes. You will have free time to explore New York City throughout the trip. Many participants choose to visit landmarks, shops, museums, and restaurants or simply soak up the atmosphere of the city.
Will I be travelling alone?
We recommend you register for the challenge with a friend or a group and experience the challenge and group together. You’ll be part of a group of like-minded fundraisers, supported by event staff and charity representatives throughout the experience.

At 6:00 PM, board an exclusive black-tie cruise and let the night unfold in pure elegance. Begin with a premium open bar and artfully prepared hors d’oeuvres, mingling as the skyline glows and the city hums around you.
As night settles over the water, guests are welcomed to a bespoke three-course dining experience, exquisitely prepared and served amid panoramic views of the city’s most celebrated landmarks. Cocktail glasses clink, the music softens, and the city reveals its magic.
